These unique silver earrings have been handmade from reticulated sterling silver and the traditional Korean keum boo technique. I created reticulated silver by heating sterling silver to a high enough temperature that the surface of it began to melt giving an uneven rippled effect to the silver. The keum boo technique applies gold foil to the surface and I then added a patina to the silver to darken it and create a beautiful contrast of black and gold.
 
The rectangles of keum boo hang from sterling silver earwires. The total drop of the earrings is 29 mm and the dimensions of the keum boo rectangle is 10 x 15 mm.
