A handmade brooch is a wonderful piece of jewellery to gift to someone to mark a special occasion such as an anniversary, a milestone birthday or retirement.  This unique silver brooch has been handmade from recycled sterling silver and a round Scottish Lewisian Gneiss gemstone.  
 
I have created a wooden twig effect with the sterling silver and have darkened it with a patina.  The Lewisian Gneiss gemstone sits in recycled sterling silver on the edge of the silver twig.  
 
The diameter of the gemstone is 10 mm and the approximate diameter of the brooch is 25 mm.
