This handmade sterling silver branch necklace is part of my lichen range inspired by walks in the Scottish woods with my children.
 
I have cut the little lichen shapes from sheets of sterling silver and then I gently textured and domed them.  The surface of some of the lichen shapes has had enamel applied to them which was them fired in a kiln.
 
Each necklace is created individually and therefore there will be slight variations in the shape of the lichen to the one shown in the image - just as in nature.  However, the number of lichen and position will remain the same.   The horizontal branch of lichen measures 4 cm and the chain is 18 inches.  
 
One of the features of this necklace is the toggle clasp which I have positioned to the side of the necklace rather than the back which makes it visible and part of the design.
